Naughty Dog, the developers behind beloved video games “Uncharted” and “The Last of Us” has announced that three of their employees have left the company due to issues with future projects. Naughty Dog has now lost their Marketing Director, Analyst and Producer. This means that Naughty Dog will no longer have the same man producing the games we love which can result in their games being very different.
The Last of Us had the creative director leave half way through its development and it resulted in the game not performing as well as Uncharted did. The game felt more slow, less action oriented and more like a painting than a video game. This is because the creative director had massive pull on how the game looked, played and felt. When Naughty Dog had to switch their creative directors the game took a turn for the worse.
Essentially the potential for the next Uncharted to be amazing is going down with each employee that leaves Naughty Dog. It isn’t surprising that members of the Naughty Dog Team are now leaving the company, they’ve been a video game developed since before the Playstation 1. The majority of those who are still with the company in a high paying position have been a part of the company since it was first established back in the late 1980’s. The majority of them have now reached the age where they can retire and rightfully so. There is still a 99% chance that Uncharted on the PS4 will be incredible.
